Ventura Charter School’s Earth Day EcoFest is back!
Ventura Charter School is pleased to once again present Earth Day EcoFest, a celebration of our planet for the community of Ventura. After a three-year hiatus, this family-friendly FREE event welcomes the community to enjoy live performances, exhibitions, food trucks, an electric vehicle expo, and more. Earth Day EcoFest will take place on Sunday April 16th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ventura Charter School campus, 2060 Cameron Street, Ventura.
In support of Earth-friendly practices, Ventura Charter School’s Earth Day EcoFest welcomes the community to head to the campus utilizing a variety of transportation options. Bicycle to event and receive bike valet services sponsored by Bike Ventura County and Ventura Bike Depot. Through Gold Coast Transit District’s Youth Ride Free Program, students and children 18 and under ride free with no identification required. Exhibitors include the City of Ventura Environmental Sustainability, Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and Channel Islands National Park, Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Institute, CMS Capital Mortgage, Bella Luna Garden Care, Bell Arts Factory, EV Advocates of Ventura, and Amigos Party Rentals. EcoFest sponsor Bodhi Salt Yoga will be hosting four class sessions throughout the day to promote health, healing and connection, with guests encouraged to bring their yoga mats.
The stage is set with hours of entertainment, including Casual Business, a local high energy, good vibe rock band performing at 3:30 p.m. Other acts include Dev Dance Theatre, Mia Tan Mendoza, the Boom Duo, Danza Angeles de Guadalupe and the Brothers Koren. Enjoy the show with refreshments and snacks from Mister Softee, Beacon Coffee and other delicious food options.
A silent auction, benefiting Ventura Charter School’s many diverse and inclusive academic programs, will open at 11 a.m. and close promptly at 4:00 p.m. Among the items available for in-person bidding are a bio-composter from Jeden Bioscience, bicycles, summer camps, jewelry, gift certificates to local businesses, and more.
In addition to the silent auction, the event will feature a raffle. Pre-sale raffle tickets can be purchased from families of Ventura Charter School students or at the event. All tickets are $1. The grand prize is $800 in Disney Cash, with other prizes including a year-long membership to Underwood Farms, a pearl and diamond necklace from George Thompson Jewelers, and gift certificates to restaurants and family activities in Ventura. The raffle will be pulled each hour, with the grand prize drawing at 4 p.m. Winners need not be present.
